I adore jewelry!  Nothing is worse than when your favorite piece of jewelry loses its shine and luster from daily wear and tear.  So if you are looking for tips to shine your silver, clean your sparkling diamonds, enhance the luster of your pearls or clean your gemstones, look no further than your pantry!  With common household ingredients like dish detergent, mineral oil, baking soda and ammonia… you can restore all of your jewelry to sparkle and shine like new!

Here are my favorites:

1. Sparking Diamond Potion – Diamond Jewelry Cleaner Home Remedy – I have a jar that my potato masher fits into perfectly.  So I put this mixture of ammonia and water into the jar, put the potato masher into the jar, and then drop in my diamond jewelry.  Then when I am ready to take out my diamonds, I just lift up the potato masher, and up comes the jewelry!  Then I just screw the lid onto the jar (which I have labeled “Sparking Diamond Potion”) and save the diamond jewelry cleaner for next time.

2. Silver Shining Sprinkle Fizz – Silver Jewelry Cleaner Home Remedy – I used to scrub and shine my silver to try and clean up tarnish… but this is SO much easier.  The bubbly fizzing action does all of the work for you.

3. Pearl Luster Moisturizer – Pearl Jewelry Cleaner Home Remedy – I’ve always wondered how you clean and maintain pearls.  I know that water is generally a no-no, since it weakens the silk string that pearls are threaded on.  Mineral oil totally makes sense.  My pearls haven’t looked this good in years!

4. Gemstone Cleaner & Fingerprint Remover – Gemstone Jewelry Cleaner Home Remedy – Sapphires, rubies, citrines, garnets, iolites, amethysts, diamonds… yup I love them all.  I am a little sad that this can’t work on more delicate gemstones like pearls, emerald, lapis and turquoise… but luckily we have tip #3 above for those.
